How big is a 22 inch pizza? Our Mega, explained

Every pizza at La Pizza Bella comes in three sizes: Medium (12 inches), Large (15 inches) and Mega (22 inches). The numbers sound close together, but pizza is a circle, so a few extra inches across add up to a lot more pizza.
The maths in one minute
The area of a pizza grows with the square of its width. A 12 inch Medium is about 113 square inches of pizza. A 15 inch Large is about 177. A 22 inch Mega is about 380.
So one Mega is roughly the same amount of pizza as three and a third Mediums, or just over two Larges. That is why it comes in its own big box.
Which size is the best value
Take our specialty pizzas: $23 for a Medium, $29 for a Large and $65 for a Mega. Per square inch, the Medium works out at about 20 cents, the Large at about 16 cents and the Mega at about 17 cents. If you want the most pizza for the money, order Larges or a Mega rather than a stack of Mediums.
Some pizzas carry their own price on the menu, so check the size prices next to each pizza before you order.
When the Mega makes sense
The Mega is built for sharing: a group of friends, a family night, a birthday or the office. If you are feeding ten people, our Group Feed for 10 (22 in) is three Mega pizzas of your choice plus a garlic, herb and mozzarella pizza.
Gluten free bases are $5 extra if anyone at the table needs one.
